Why is this your passion?
God has called us to reach out to others with a practical expression of the gospel. One of the biblical means for demonstrating His great mercy is through intentional kindness. It says in Matthew chapter 5 verse 16, “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven”. Also, in Romans chapter 2 verse 4, “…the kindness of God leads to repentance”. With this in mind, we seek to build relational equity with individuals, families, entire communities in order to, “Do all the good you can, in all the ways you can, to all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as you ever can” (John Wesley).
How do you plan on meeting these needs?
1. PROVISION: procuring and distributing practical resources to those in need (groceries, shoes, socks, winter coats, backpacks with school supplies, holiday help, medical foot care for those experiencing homelessness, community BBQ events, etc.)
2. PARTICIPATION: Rather than doing FOR people only, our ultimate interest is to do WITH others. With this in mind, we look to engage the community with volunteerism, including the recipients of our services, to join with us in serving the community. We look to encourage regular volunteers to engage as leaders who gain practical skillsets to grow and contribute to the community in a more meaningful manner.
3. PARTNERSHIPS: We prefer to work together rather than alone in order to do the most good with the least amount of waste. We enjoy sharing resources and engaging in collaborative outreach opportunities.
